Retire to the good
life in Glynde

Lutheran Homes Group Glynde, established in 1957, was inspired by the visionary dream of Mr and Mrs A B Schulze, who sought to create a truly exceptional home for retired individuals.

Nestled within one of Adelaide’s most serene suburbs, Glynde is situated in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, offering convenient access to both the Adelaide CBD and a plethora of local shopping facilities.

You can enjoy the comfort of knowing 24-hour emergency assistance is always close to hand. And with co-located Respite and Residential Care, you won’t need to move far, even if your needs change.

Retirement Living Units

Our Glynde community comprises 196 Retirement Living units with 2 or 3 bedrooms.

Units have a fully equipped kitchen, lounge/dining area, bathroom and laundry, along with reverse cycle air conditioning, built-in wardrobes, floor coverings, and light fittings. Units also have a garage or carport if you choose to drive.

These spacious, purpose designed and well appointed homes offer the very best in modern retirement living.

Lifestyle and Wellness

Each of our communities places great importance on lifestyle and wellness, ensuring that residents feel welcomed and supported. We have dedicated Retirement Living Coordinators who help facilitate this. Serving as friendly faces, they create a warm and inviting atmosphere for all residents, making sure everyone feels at home. Our Retirement Living Coordinators become the go-to people and trusted guides. Their genuine care and attentiveness foster strong relationships within each community.

Additionally, Retirement Living residents are welcome to enjoy various facilities and services that further enhance their sense of home and well-being. This includes:

  • Kafé Schultze – licensed café and restaurant
  • Medical practitioners, physiotherapists and podiatrists
  • Personal services
  • Community centre
  • Outdoor and BBQ areas
  • Hairdressers
  • Gymnasium
  • Library

Spiritual life at Glynde

Lutheran Homes Group is concerned not only for the physical needs of its residents, but also their spiritual well-being. We know how important this becomes, especially as we age.

Spirituality is about a sense of purpose or meaning. It’s also about particular connections in our life, such as with others, creativity, nature, and a sense of something bigger or beyond ourselves. It can also be through faith or a belief system.

For residents seeking spiritual care and support, two Lutheran chaplains are employed on site. The Glynde St Andrew’s Lutheran Church is on the same site as our Residential Care facility, at 22 Avenue Road, just a short stroll from our Retirement Living Units.

Should residents seek other than Lutheran/Christian spiritual care, pastoral carers from other faith traditions are welcome to visit them.

Additional Support

Lutheran Homes Group offers a range of services to support Retirement Living residents. These can be part of a Government-funded Home Care Package or as privately funded Extras.

Residential Care

Lutheran Homes Group Glynde has co-located Residential Care, including memory support and palliative care. Retirement Living residents receive priority access to Residential Care if your care needs change, which allows you to continue living in the same community.
